I recall one time in particular when he was on my lap and woke suddenly in utter panic and fear, scratching me up in the process...That was the absolute worst I've ever seen him. I haven't seen him wake like that in the past year or two, though, fortunately.<br /><br />But even after over 3.5 years with me, he'll still run if I pick up a small area rug to shake it out, or am carrying something--almost anything, even something simple like pillows or laundry or a bag or box.<br /><br />Poor Derry-Bear, he's also not particularly bright. He's a wonderful, smoochy boy and I love and adore him to pieces, but of the four cats I've had in my life, he's the least "sharp."
