Mom actually give her a wee bit of Vaseline as a preventive. Years ago, one of my cats had problems too, and the vet gave me oil based product that he licked off my fingers once a day. Just don't remember the product now.

Purrz, Katie Kat.Katiez Furry Mewzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05819595350316210130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508973452758369679.post-39392482847341937342014-01-30T08:56:59.718-08:002014-01-30T08:56:59.718-08:00Poor Tucker. It's too unfair that he has these medical problems on top of his early psychological difficulties.

I had the same problem with one of my cats a few years back--with vet trips, enemas, and all. She was a very fuzzy cat, and it turned out she was getting litter from the boxes stuck in her paws, and she would lick it off and swallow it. At that time, I was using the "scoopable" ultra-absorbent litter, so it just turned into concrete in her intestines.

It doesn't sound like this is Tucker's problem, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. In any case, here's hoping he makes a full and permanent recovery.Undinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16214242522330278662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508973452758369679.post-6551873598209124102014-01-30T08:11:07.756-08:002014-01-30T08:11:07.756-08:00Ugh, poor Tucker. A bit too close to home for me, ...Ugh, poor Tucker. A bit too close to home for me, as I recall those last weeks with Annie. (Fortunately NOT the same state of affairs with Tucker!)

Anyway, purrs for poop!

BTW, after Annie had died, I switched the boys kibble to some hairball formula and that stopped Derry up pretty quickly. The vet techs gave him a baby enema (literally a human baby enema) -- i.e. a squirt up the butt, nothing invasive as Annie had had, repeatedly. In Derry's case, it worked within 10 or so minutes...and I stopped the hairball food immediately (too much fibre for him, I guess).

So paws and fingers crossed that Tucker's system is sorted out quickly and easily, with a minimum of fuss, poor boy. Smooches to him from the human.Fuzzy Taleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09505853082591216696noreply@blogger.com
