Cammie is a beautiful little cat, but she is not photogenic. None of the pictures I take of her does her justice. It doesn’t help that she is usually wearing a melancholy expression. Whether the outer look reflects the inner mood, I don’t know. But the princess’s images never really look like the creature with whom I live.
Last evening, however, she was lying on the bed and the westering sun’s light filtered through thin clouds from the edge of a passing rainstorm. The illumination lit up her slightly-crossed green eyes with their radiating flecks of gold, and brightened her face. She still bears her sad expression but these are two of the better pictures I’ve taken of her.
This is my Siamese princess.
Lovely photos! We think she's a beautiful girl when we see any of your pics.
ReplyDeleteShe's probably not "sad" at all, rather like Grumpy Cat really isn't grumpy. Just their expressions! :-)
Of course you're likely correct. Just like people, the passive expressions are probably not reflective of the true mood. She looks much the same when she purrs...
DeleteIsn't she lovely. I am putty in the paws of a Siamese.
ReplyDeleteshe looks a little solemn, but very regal :)
ReplyDeleteI've always thought she was beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. She's grooming as I type; very conscientious, she is.
DeleteI love Siamese cats. I grew up with two, a brother and sister and found them fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCammie is indeed a gorgeous cat. But I wouldn't call her expression melancholy. I think it's more regal. You are quite correct to refer to her as "the princess".
ReplyDeleteWhat a little beauty and such lovely photos. I do understand as Miss Pops is not a fan of the camera, and I try to only harass her every couple of days, and take lots at a time hoping to grab a couple of nice shots. Thanks goodness for digital cameras.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend.
Julie and Poppy Q
Whatever you do when you take pictures of Poppy is great; they are always so clear and detailed. I envy you the close-ups.
DeleteI love this princess! She has come such a long way since you adopted her. Her coat goes so well with the blanket she is modeling on!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend to you and your fur-family.
Such a beautiful girl!!!!
ReplyDeleteCammie is beautiful. And the photo you took is lovely - I like the composition and the soft greys. Cammie: a study in grey.
ReplyDeleteCammie is always beautiful. I think your photos of her are lovingly taken and always show her true beauty. Some cats are easier to photograph than others. Annabelle is a dream cat to photograph. Her cuteness always comes through, Boo is hard to get she makes me really work for that special image. Ping is just a plain gorgeous and oh my does the camera love him. Jinx not so much. He again prefers I leave him alone, and like Boo he makes me work to get a good photo. His eyes are stunning emerald with beautiful brown flecks. When I catch him just right I feel so satisfied. If only they would listen to us when we ask to take a good photo, but they don't so with great patience and a little luck we do get the photos we dream about.
ReplyDeleteCammie is so beautiful when we see her in photos but only you can see how beautiful she actually is. My most handsome kitty takes the most awful photos but then, so do some very good looking humans.
ReplyDeleteYou know I've loved Cammie since I first met her . She's absolutely captivating.
I know you're her number one fan, next to me. She is doing well in the new apartment and lets the other cats get closer to her than ever, even Josie. She still keeps them at paw's length, but it's better each day.
DeleteJust wait. You've only seen the tip of the iceberg.
DeleteCammie is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCammie is a lovely girl John. I'm so glad you were able to keep her with you after her disastrous venture into my city. She deserves the love and attention. Her expression is simply regal!
ReplyDeleteShe is a beautiful little princess. I love that she became a forever kitty :)
