Hand Me Down My Sleepin' Shoes

There are, as may have been implied in recent articles here, many places in the apartment in which a cat may sit or lie in comfort. The spots they actually choose from time to time therefore surprise me. This is where I found Renn last evening.

And then, apparently curious about what my big boy found so enticing about the spot, Tucker decided to try it out. This was just before bed-time.

Life continues to be interesting with my cats.

  1. Your shoes must emit an enticing, or perhaps comforting, odour. I'm fairly certain that my shoes do not. :-D

Yes, that spot would be ideal for a small bench (shoe or otherwise), if you can find one. My Ikea bench is 33.5 inches wide, I believe, so just fits my space. They had a wider one I liked better (no "arms") but that was 42 inches if I recall, and too wide for my needs.

  6. Very sweet! Our various cats over the years loved to sleep in or on our shoes too. Cats never cease to amaze me.

  8. Those photos are so cute. I would think Renn and Tucker are enjoying your scent. My cats aren't that fond of my shoes per se - they like playing with my shoelaces.

  9. If one does it, the other has to follow suit! Flynn has never been interested in shoes, but several years ago we had a cat that would make a beeline for shoes. If a visitor came in the door he would collapse in a drooling heap on their shoes.

  10. I wonder if it is the outdoors' smell as well as the smell of leather which makes your shoes so attractive to Renn and Tucker. They are both so sweet.
