Life likes to keep one alert. After writing yesterday about how things were running smoothly with the cats, and that there wasn’t anything to discuss, I came home to find that Renn had deposited an almost liquid crap in a litter-box, and then dragged his long, flooffy tail through it. He hates being cleaned, especially in his nether regions (that is, after all, how he came to live with me) but it was done and he was purring next to me soon after.
I am not worried about Renn. He is suffering a bit of a cold, with plenty of sneezing. I suspect that there is a bit of a stomach upset going along with it. They’ve occurred before in the Cosy Apartment, and will again. If they ever last long, which they haven’t yet (paws crossed), the cat concerned will be whisked off to the veterinary hospital. I am sure my big boy will be leaving relative cleanliness behind soon enough. His appetite remains normal, as do his other habits.
But it was a reminder not to be complaisant, that those who arrange such matters in the universe like to keep our attention focused. I don’t mind the rehearsals, but when one lives on the stage, practice becomes rather redundant.
Luckily, this sounds like only a minor blip for your "quiet time." I hope his cold clears up soon.
ReplyDeleteOh-oh, it looks like you spoke too soon. Here's hoping that Renn will be feeling better in no time, and things will once again be running smoothly at the Cosy Apartment.
ReplyDeleteHopefully his cold clears up soon, and any resulting issues don't happen again soon. Eww.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comment that the universe likes to keep our attention focused. I've learned never to say I'm bored...because that's about the time all hell breaks loose.
What a blip in your day. Precious ate her breakfast yesterday and turned from the vinyl floor to the carpet to throw up. We just do clean up and go on.
ReplyDeleteI hope that's just a minor, one-time upset in the otherwise calm environment. My mom always would tell me not to tempt the Fates.
ReplyDeleteYOW dood......sorree bout yur tail and hope yur stomachz feelin better....like lotz better two day; as all wayz blessingz frum de dood named frank ☺☺♥3
ReplyDeleteYep, that's exactly how those things happen! I hope Renn is feeling much better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh John. And Renn, please...get better quickly dear boy.
ReplyDeleteAww, Renn, now the whole interwebs knows about your dirty bottom!
ReplyDeleteRenn we hope your troubles are soon Behind you MOL. Our Rumpy lulls me into a sense that his sticky bottom is in remission and then it sneaks back. It is because we are titrating his steroids down again so as his asthma gets better the other end suffers. I would much rather clean and have him breathing better
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. One end is health and longer life; the other is just a bit of an inconvenience.
DeleteWell you know what happens when you tempt fate! I hope Renn is soon feeling better again.
