Everyone was still alive when I returned home from work yesterday. I don’t think the perma-cats liked Hector being out all day, but I doubt that he bothered them for the entire time, either. And the only way for everyone to get used to the new boy, and vice versa, is if they see him and interact with him. The experiment continues today.
In the meantime, the other beasts are probably feeling that too much time is being given to the newcomer. Therefore, allow me to show Portia when she was basking in the autumn sunshine this past weekend. The light is thinner now than it was, not as strong, but gentler. The sun is moving south, and it won’t be long until it doesn’t shine directly into the Cosy Apartment. My sun-worshipper was taking advantage of nature’s warmth while it lasts.
I am so glad things worked out well and no one was insulted or whapped while you were gone (I think). And Portia, now that is some serious sunpuddle bathing. I'm surprised the other beasts aren't doing the same! I would love to see the trees filled with occupants, sunning. I have noted that the light is indeed thinner now and I don't feel as concerned about Katie lolling in a sunpuddle now as I did when it was so much more bright. Black fur and over-long exposure is not her friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad there was no blood, no bodies. :-D
ReplyDeletePortia has a wonderful ledge on which to perch, or lie, to sunbathe. In a non-cat/pet household, that would be perfect for plants too!
She's one lovely sunbather.
ReplyDeletePortia *does* look like she's praying to one of the Cat Gods.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like this is going to be an easy integration for the perma-cats and Hector. Hopefully this will continue without much hissing and growling. Meanwhile Portia looks so comfortable relaxing in the sun.
ReplyDeleteI am glad all appeared to be peaceful when you got home. The perma cats were probably tutting amongst themselves thinking you had forgotten to shut Hector in.
ReplyDeletePortia is enjoying the sun whilst it is still available.
Ha! 'Forgot to shut Hector in'... Yes, that's probably what they were thinking.
Deletehappee chillaxin two ewe portia, ewe bee lookin my tee gorgeouz ther...we bet sum naybor hood doodz stop bye ta see if ya wanna date ;) ♥♥☺☺
ReplyDeleteHow good all is okay and sweet Portia looks most content!
ReplyDeletePortia sure looks to be enjoying the sun. So glad Hector and the PermaCats seem to be figuring it all out.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worshipping the sun!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear everyone survived the new boy. Portia looks very content in the sunshine. She can keep an eye on the outdoors and stay cozy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteGood on Portia and Hector settling in so well.
ReplyDeletePortia looks content and relaxed. Life is good at the cozy apt.
ReplyDeleteHave you had any visitors to your outside bistro?
Unfortunately, the only diner at Cafe Cosy has been a little grey girlcat who has a home. Sable has been missing for most of the year; Arliss has vanished; I don’t even get raccoons or skunks, anymore. Sigh.
DeletePortia you sleep like our Einstein. He also puts both paws straight out with his head in between. In bed he will move his head like he is suckling but not actually get a wet spot. He is the odd one. Does Poe do this a lot too? Cute
ReplyDeleteLove how you are bowing to the sunpuddle, Portia!
ReplyDeleteNice to hear that things seem to be going OK as far as the process of integration goes. It seems to be moving along quite well...I too had a giggle at Jackie's comment about the tut-tutting, LOL!
What a lovely place to lie in the sun and feel the warmth!
