In the Good Old Summer-time

32° C (89.6° F) last weekend - probably hotter inside - with a cat (38° C (100.4° F) average body temperature) on my lap… When’s autumn coming?

  1. My first thought: "Yes, that WOULD be Hector wanting a lap during a heat wave..."

    1. Indeed. Though, except for Neville once in a while, Hector's my only lap-cat, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

  2. I know about cat heat. Precious on my legs every eve and I have to have her special blanket on my legs or she is not happy. So I do it and I keep a small fan aimed right at us on high speed. But I love every minute. Which of us cat owners does not.

  4. I can relate. I usually wake up in the morning to find 3 or 4 of the cats in bed with me. Needless to say, they take up most of the bed, and I'm in a little corner.

  5. The hard part: keeping cat fur from sticking to one's sweaty skin!
    Hahaha!

  6. Maybe the heat you give off trying to cool down attracts him?

  7. Aggghhh, that's even hotter than we were during the past couple of weeks. We had high 20s - low 30s, humidity into the high 30s, and that was hot enough! Too hot for fur on one's lap. LOL.

  9. Man, that's CAT weathers! I can see everyone rolling and settling into a sunpuddle OR a warm snuggly lap! Winter comes and we have to lie on or next to the heat vents to get the hots we need!! That's what I do, and all my furriends too. Hector...you have it made. I do hope you snuggle in bed as well?

  10. Yikes that's some scorching temperatures. Put a damp face cloth in the freezer - it will feel good on the back of your neck.
