I put up my Christmas tree yesterday. Last year, I didn’t decorate it with ornaments (the lights are already on the tree) because Hector was spending his first Yuletide in the Cosy Apartment, and I wasn’t sure of his reaction. This year, it’s Zofia’s turn to be new, and I wanted to see how she behaved.
So far, little Miss Zed doesn’t seem to mind the tree at all; I don’t know that she even thinks it’s an addition. Hector, however, seemed quite interested in it. I don’t know the extent to which he is interested, so the decorations will have to wait, as yet.
Hector looks SO ADORABLE, as he gently inspects the tree.
ReplyDeleteJudging by those photos, Hector's relationship with that tree could get...interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely the lights are built in. The less removeable or snaggable by a claw the better! That said, Zofia seems so at home and comfy in that chair. I bet much fun will be had on the big day with all the many other gifts they will get and share.

Hector is being very gentle with it, but that could be because he knows you are watching!
ReplyDeleteLooks like he is saying "who me?" I didn't do it. Oh Hector you are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteHector looks like he doesn't quite know what to make of the tree, but I'm sure he'll figure it out in no time. But that said, you're braver than I am. With all my cats, I gave up on having a tree years ago.
ReplyDeleteI love that last photo, so innocent. LOL. Your tree is lovely even with just lights. You could always try a few cat-safe ornaments. :-D
ReplyDeleteBased on the photos, I suspect your idea of not putting the decorations on just yet is a good one. When my cats were young, I put bells on the tree in various places so if they touched it, I would hear the bell and bellow. That worked, of course, when I was home. I came home once or twice to a partially undecorated tree.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet face in that last photo. Who me, he seems to be saying. :)
I really like it that you have color lights on the tree. Plain white is plain. And without ornaments, the lights still are so cheerful. Hector is enjoying thinking on what may get hung and removed at his leisure.
ReplyDeleteAnd, you'll be glad to know, I realized Horace/Harley has had his handsome white countenance removed. He's missed.
That last photo certainly shows Hector on his best behavior.
ReplyDeleteHector has a top spot on Santa's Nice List!
