I start my holidays at the end of work today. Though it may seem that I have had holidays this year, these three weeks will see me not only getting outside whenever I like, but riding my bicycle and doing other things for which pain and healing refused me permission following my surgery.
I will spend three weeks in Idylland, possibly in this cottage in the languid district of Riparia…
Or perhaps farther away from settled provinces, in the hills of Verdureland…
In any case, I will be taking the cats with me, of course. Fellow-blogger Kim asked about Renn. My big boy is doing well. I don’t want to jinx his progress, but his eating has been impressive (for him), especially with soft-food (if the problem had been his teeth, one wouldn’t have thought it would’ve affected soft-food much); he has no difficulty with hard-food and has had a good appetite every day after Sunday. Until then, he was ill, having thrown up a couple of days subsequent to his operation. This may have been due to the pain-killers given him. I think, however, the surgery did him much good.
Neville is still lazy, and periodically raids Minuet’s ‘dietetic’ hard-food bowl, as he has a preference for that variety. Min complains, but not greatly; she’s used to the Nevsky now.
Hector is rambunctious, curious, troublesome and annoying; normal. But he continues to be a delight, so I’ll keep him around until someone else wants him…
My very-oldster, Minuet, appears in fine fettle, though she has become more insistent over demanding food. She’s been with me four months now, and I suppose any apprehension she may have had over being new has worn off. We spend quite a bit of time on the library couch together, me petting and Madame purring.
I will write more during my holidays, and let everyone know of our adventures in Idylland. Fortunately, life is good right now, and I am grateful for it.
Hooray for vacation time! I hope it is as relaxing and restful as you want. I'm sure you and the cats will have a good time in Idylland.
