Warmth for the Winter

The Cosy Cabin has a forced-air furnace, which means hot-air vents are to be found in the various rooms. This is a revelation to the beasts, none of whom lived with me so long ago as to remember the house I had with similar heating. Used to heat coming from hot-water pipes laid out along the bases of walls, the warmth blowing from certain points in the floor have appealed to some of them.

I remember my Josie liked the vents in the old house, though she especially enjoyed the air conditioned cool air blowing through them in the summers. For now, however, the currents cats are enjoying the heat.

  1. Lol. Smart cats! Derry would lie on or near some of my vents too. Heck, I've been known to stand on them when my feet are freezing! 😁

  2. There is a spot in the downstairs hallway that warms up nicely when the heat it on; we figure it once was a heat vent.
Celestial Chuck and Angel would hang out there in the winter, but Da Boyz don't seem to care much.
Then again, they have each other and/or my lap to give them extra heat.

  3. Leave it to a cat to figure out the best way to stay warm in winter.

  5. I bet they are all going to love forced air heat this winter. It doesn't take them long to figure out how to lay on a vent. Precious does not do this but Peepers always did.

  6. OH my goodness yes. Katie is glued to three favorite vents! Huddled like a Tuxie lump to the vent.

  8. I've had one or two cats who appreciated the heat generated from the floor vents too. Glad they are enjoying it!
