Allegro, Andante and Largo came through their neuters very well, without any difficulty. Even last night, they acted as if there had been no surgery. They were hungry, and I fed them small amounts over an extended period, but by bed-time, they were still hungry - nine pound cats who are, probably, still growing, who had been without food for a night and a day, will be - so I gave them their usual bed-time amount (I think that bed-time meal may have been the extra food that has helped create the giants I now live with.)
The cones went on at night, but I don’t think they are necessary. Watching the youngsters without the cones, I see them play, wrestle, chase, jump, roll, sleep, groom - everything but bother the surgical site. Neuters are probably the least worrisome significant operation a cat can have.
Presto is back to having his meals with his brothers, and staying in the library with them when the rest of the Cosy Cabin needs a break from their high activity, but he remains out at bedtime. That gives him the opportunity to sleep on the bed, or play with Coda, both influential factors in a possible adoption. I would let the other Tempos roam free through the night but five kittens, along with two big adults who like playing with them, might result in too many sleepless hours.
All the Tempos are now ready for their adoptions, when and if they happen.

Phew, glad that is done and over with! I hope they all find their forever homes soon! Maybe in pairs?
ReplyDeleteThat would be ideal.
DeleteI'm so glad to hear that things went well with the Tempos' surgery. Hopefully they will be adopted soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat great news! They are back, little the worse for wear and playing! AND eating! Ready to be adopted.
ReplyDeleteLike having a handful of Circ de Soleil acrobats in the Cosy Cabin!
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, neuters are the easiest of surgeries for cats. I used to feed the fosters in a big, flat, wide bowl which around here is called a "crawfish platter" because it is used at a crawfish boil to serve them and the potatoes and corn which usually go along with them, and i had one post neuter baby fall asleep in the platter on top of the food. He'd wake, take a bite, swallow, fall back to sleep. It was too funny.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying they all get great homes very quickly.
Well done kittens.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear their surgery went well. Hope they will now find wonderful fur-ever homes.
ReplyDeleteNow maybe you'll have a week of peace and quiet no doctor visits and no bad health for anybody including yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'll be surprised if they aren't adopted. Who wouldn't want a handsome supersized kitten?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they did well and do hope they'll all find wonderful forever homes sooner than later. 🤞❤️
