Back to Normal?

Thank you to all those who expressed concern over Cammie’s latest bout of illness, and wishes for her full recovery. She is doing well again, eating and drinking. She came to sit on my lap yesterday, saw Renn was on the couch, too (a couple of feet away), grew offended, hissed and left. She’s pretty much back to normal.

But is this normal? A couple of nights ago, I saw Parker go into the bedroom. Josie was already there. Then Cammie wandered in. Then the other boys. It was as though they were drawn by some call. It seemed as if there might be something outside to look at, but not everyone went to the window. They wanted to be in the bedroom, but did not appear to know why. They may have been expecting instructions from their superior. And I don’t mean me.

Well, if cats didn’t behave oddly at times, we would think it strange indeed.

Now that you mention it, I have long said that the only way to understand cats is to accept that they're all following orders from their space alien command center.

  2. There was a call from the mothership! I firmly believe that cats are from out-of-this-world, with that ability to disappear, and the way they see things that we cannot.

This would be my theory. :-P

It made for a great photo opp, though. I have trouble getting two cats in one frame, never mind five!

  4. That IS odd. I'm glad you thought to take a picture of them. Everyone is definitely there for a reason...wish we knew what that reason was! Did they stay quite a while? Heads are all up, so something attracted them. AH! Guests at the hotel outside perhaps?

    1. I thought it might be, too, but the hotel is farther toward the sitting room, and everyone would have a good view of it from there. Who can say what was going on...?

  6. I only just commented on yourlast post and am glad to see that Cammie continues to improve.
Maybe the cats were trying to tell you it was bed time.

  8. Glad she is feeling better. I think cats hold secret meetings to plot against us :)

  9. I hope Cammie is better. I am sorry to hear she was unwell. I think you might be right about the fish causing some upset. I was told, not sure how much truth though, that some cats have reactions to fish.

I wonder what force brought the cats together in the room....

    1. In our rescue-group, we've come up against allergies to all sorts of food, from fish to chicken to beef. Unfortunately, many tinned cat-foods are processed with fish oil.

  10. Oh, I keep missing posts John. So glad to hear that Cammie is feeling back to normal.

You mentioned the cats typically don't get too close to one another. You may want to be on the alert, perhaps they're plotting to take over the house. Oh...just wait, they already have. :p

  11. It's so good to hear that Cammie is feeling much better. The photo of all the cats together is terrific. I have trouble getting a picture of just one cat. However, it does look like someone called a meeting to order, doesn't it. Hmmmm....

    1. Cammie is well again. Now to keep her like that. And it's very rare that I can photograph all of mine together. I think I have less than a dozen pictures like that from a decade of taking photos of them.

  12. I’ve commented late on Cammie’s illness as well. I am so relieved she’s feeling better. Cerenia has been a great help for us too. So glad it works for her.
Whenever there’s an illness, be it cat or human, the cats seem to become unsettled and want to be closer to us and each other. Maybe to reestablish their sense of security.
Kiss Cammie for all of us please.

    1. Cammie can be quite a challenge with regard to her food. I must be very vigilant. But yes, she is doing well again, thank goodness, and is receiving as much attention as she wants.
