Even with Parker’s death, life goes on.
Today is especially busy. Last night, I took my bicycle to the repair shop for its annual tune-up. I figured that since I would be getting various automobile rides to and from work and the veterinary hospital, and be loaded with cats, I wouldn’t be using my bicycle much today; it would be a good time for its appointment.
Then, this morning, I dropped Josie off at the hospital for her dental procedure. I will go in the afternoon with Cammie for her examination following her stroke, and collect my Chubs at the same time. I will also be picking up Parker’s ashes, and choosing out a casket or urn for my orange-boy.
I am a bit worried about Josie and the anaesthetic; her age is not in her favour. But, with a good job, this present procedure will last her the rest of her life. Her kidneys are on the verge of giving her trouble, but she will be provided with fluids before, during and after the surgery. Still, I am looking forward to a telephone call from the doctor telling me all is well.
Do they rotate your tires...front to back...and soak your bicycle chain in oil? LOL! For The Hubby's bike, they would need to re-wrap the duct tape on the seat; Da Boyz seem to find it irresistible! Anaesthesia is so much more advanced than it used to be, but an older cat is still older, and your concerns are well founded for Josie. Here's hoping Cammie's check-up news is positive, and we'd like to see what you pick out for Angel Parker's cremains.
ReplyDeletethe wait is the worst part....good luck for good results for the girls

ReplyDeleteFingers and paws crossed all goes well for Josie, and that Cammie's check is good. I knew Josie had her dental coming up, but to be honest, lost track of when. Yes, life goes on, even when we feel it should stop, at least for a little while.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I will hope for a favourable post/update on both your girls!
Good luck ladies.
ReplyDeleteHaving a cat undergo anesthesia is always a cause for concern, but vets are so cautious these days, I'm sure they would not do the procedure if there was a possibility of a problem. My Jessica is 19 and has dental issues, but the vet will not risk giving her anesthesia at her age. Paws crossed that Cammie gets a good report. Please keep us posted on how Josie and Cammie's vet appointments go.
ReplyDeleteWe hope all comes out just splendid for everyone who is getting a fine tune up today.
ReplyDeleteMay all go great for both of them. Your household is certainly due for some good news.
ReplyDeleteHope we hear soon how the girls are faring. And I hope it's all good news because you need it!
ReplyDeleteHoping all goes well for Josie. I see there is a post about Cammie so I know things are looking better for her based on the title. Off to read the next post!
ReplyDeleteOur tailless fellow Rumpy just went in for the second try to get an xray of hid asthmatic lungs. He will not allow it but his labs are good so. We are reading forward so are sending good tidings to the old girls
ReplyDeleteI'm not supposed to have favourites, but I do like that fluffy egotist Rumpy. I know he has his troubles, so I wish him the best.
