Since
the cleaning of the cat-trees, there has been a bit of a re-ordering of where
the cats like to lie. The animal most affected by this change has been Cammie,
who has widened her field of locations. The location most affected has been the
top of the tallest cat-tree, which has widened its field of cats.
While
Josie seems not to aspire to such heights, Tucker is the beast who enjoys the
lofty position the most now. This may be due to his continuing wariness of
Parker, as this gives the roly poly the advantage of height.
Not
to be put off, my foster-cat has also visited the highest platform in the
apartment. His preference, though, is for lower spots, and he can often be
found asleep on the track-ball toy.
And
then there is Renn, who seems to be able to make himself comfortable anywhere.
In the cylinder-house cat-tree, on the bed, the couch, an armchair or at the
top of the sitting room’s taller post, he is undemanding and easy-going.
Such
re-arrangements of accommodations occur from time to time. Usually, they happen
for no particular reason that I can discern. I think I am lucky in this case at
least to know the cause.
Yes...when I took a leaf from YOUR book and de-furred the tree...she was miffed about the crow's nest and has not been in it to redecorate as yet!
ReplyDeleteHehe, the danger of advice... Katie will be back there soon. Perhaps a bit of catnip up there will encourage her.
DeleteI always find it interesting how one spot can appeal for some time, then all of a sudden not be suitable. There's reason in this case, as you mentioned, but often there doesn't seem to be. Maybe they just like a change once in a while. As long as everyone is comfy and happy, that's all that matters. :-)
ReplyDeleteeven de catfather agreez two let sum one else take de leed perch everee now N then ;)

It seems like everyone was ready for a change. Do cats know about time shares?? :-)
ReplyDeleteOnly when it involves me: they get to sit or lie where they like and from time to time they allow me to share the space.
DeleteI find that miss pops will move locations with the seasons.
ReplyDeleteFor a short-legged Persian, Brulee prefers the top of the cat tree.

Maybe a reordering of preferred spots allows each cat to gain a new vantage point - a new perspective on their home. Maybe you will need to deep clean every few months to allow each cat to cycle through the resting spots.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right, both in that a cleaning allows - or almost forces - the cats to find other spots in the household, and that they have new vistas opened up by such changes. But Heavens, what a lot of work for me!
