Another stage of the kittens’ development has begun.
On Saturday, one of Vivace’s eyes opened. Strangely, even as of this morning, the other remains shut. Her brother, Presto, has sped ahead of her, however: yesterday, both of his eyes opened. They are still not fully wide, and the blurriness of his photograph (taking a one-handed picture of a struggling kitten is not easy) is probably clearer than what he is seeing right now. But it’s a start.
As soon as the Tempos can see properly, they will start crawling away from their mother, in efforts to reach whatever it is they observe. Then the fun begins. Theirs, not mine.

This will be fun for your readers as well! 🙃
ReplyDeleteThis will be better than a Marx Brothers movie.
DeleteMaybe I should have named them after the brothers...
DeleteOh my. What mischievous sweetness!
ReplyDeleteJust look at that fat well fed little tummy!
ReplyDeleteVery soon you will have an extra three pairs of eyes watching your every move!
ReplyDeleteAwww..such adorable babies.
ReplyDeleteThey are such cuties.
ReplyDeleteOnce the kittens start investigating their new world, it will be such fun to read about their adventures. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteTheir eyes open at anywhere from 7-14 days, with ten being average. It's all a big blur at first, as you noted, but eventually they will want the run of the room, and then the whole place. As kittens often do, they'll probably get it, too.
ReplyDeleteAwww, soon there will be no boundaries that they will acknowledge! At least that is my experience with wee kittens when they start their curiosity and explorations.
ReplyDeleteC'mon kitten peepers: get open so we can enjoy your antics while John pulls his hair out.
