This
will be my final entry before Christmas Day. As I usually do, I illustrate this
post with the Christmas card I have made for the occasion. The first picture is
the outside (unfolded) and the second is the inside (also unfolded). Click on the images to enlarge them.
I
hope everyone has a warm and happy Christmas. I know several people, both in
person and through the internet, who have reason to grieve this Yuletide. There
is never a good time to lose someone dear, but, as Dickens wrote in his classic,
it is during this season that “want is keenly felt”. I wish these individuals
especially a restful Twelve Days, and hope that Christmas brings them peace.
To
all of you, a merry Christmas.
What a delightful card! I wish a happy and peaceful Christmas to you, John, and all readers of your blog.

Loss is never easy, and it is felt poignantly at this time of year for those "empty chairs" that we can see and feel in our hearts. Prayers and purrs for those who feel that sense of absence.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so lovely and wonderfully humorous!
Merry Christmas to all of you and may be blessed with a happy New Year.
I’m glad blogger has allowed me to comment again! Very sweet card! Your kitties are very fortunate to have such a great dad! This Christmas is hard with the loss of not one but two of my 3 kitties since September first. First my aged Sweet Pea on September 1, then Toby on Nov 19. He had been suffering with hyperthyroidism and I never got a handle on his medication. Came home from work and he had died during the day. Such a shock but at least his is no longer suffering. That now leaves me with my 12 year old Oliver and my new girl, Clementine, who just appeared on my front porch in mid September. She has transitioned into the house very well and she and Oliver get along pretty well. Here’s hoping for a Christmas and New Year devoid of any cat illnesses!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was a sad year for you, Possumlady. I agree that we need at least a year without any cat illnesses, and hopefully much longer.
DeleteI am sure that Clementine will enjoy her first Christmas with you. This is Raleigh's first with me. We are blessed to have these wonderful creatures sharing our lives, aren't we? A happy Yuletide to you, Oliver and Clementine, and a much happier year.
Merry Christmas John, Cammie, Josie, Paker, Renn, Tucker and Raleigh. Thank you for let us in on life at the Cozy Apartment. I wish you a very healthy, joyful and peaceful Christmas and New Year. from Eileen and Holly
ReplyDeleteP.S. I seem to be having troubles with posting my comment. I hope this goes through.
Yes, the comment arived! Hurrah! You'll notice Possumlady above is also having trouble with Blogger.
DeleteI am glad you commented as it gives me a chance to say 'merry Christmas' back to you. I am pleased that Holly's recent examination showed her to be well. That's a gift worthy of the best Christmases. May you and she have a marvellous and happy Christmas, Eileen.
Here's hoping that you and yours all enjoyed a terrific Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely card. I hope you had a very good Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWe were away for a few days, and where we were staying the internet was almost non existent so I wasn't able to come around and comment until now. It is the first year that I have missed visiting blogs to wish everyone Merry Christmas on the day.
Being where the internet doesn't exist can be a very good thing now and then. In any case, I hope your own Christmas was enjoyable.
