When Valkyrie was confined to the cat-room following her spay-surgery, she was given a new cat-bed to keep her warm. Being a cat and, what’s more, a kitten, she never used it. Once she was free, I moved the bed out to the sitting room. I thought it might give Brazil a place to lie, instead of squeezing Neville out of his heated bed.
Once again, my plan was foiled by cats. It was Nev who decided that the new bed was just the spot for him. Despite it not being heated, and by an outside wall, he has taken to curling up in its high-sided space. I am sure he is comfortable and warm, and certainly Brazil, who now feels at leisure to occupy the older heated bed, has no problem with the Nevsky’s decision.
But I’m beginning to think my cats feel it’s their duty to be contrary…
Never a dull moment!
ReplyDeleteHa! Things never go as humans plan or intend, at least with respect to cats! As long as everyone is happy.... 🙂
ReplyDeleteNow let's wait to see how soon Brazil wants what Nev has.
ReplyDeleteOf course they do. It is what cats do!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly make their preferences known! Nev's probably happy not to share with Brazil.
ReplyDeleteAhh...The best laid plans of mice and men. (Or is it cats and men?)
ReplyDelete"But I’m beginning to think my cats feel it’s their duty to be contrary…"
ReplyDeleteYou're just now finding this out??!!
I'm an optimist...
DeleteThe cats will do what the cats want, what you want doesn't matter to them
