The Invisible Quarry

For some reason, Valkyrie is trying to reach things high up now, and it’s as if she has noticed ceilings for the first time. She is often staring at the ceilings, even in the library downstairs, which worries me a bit, since she would probably be able to reach it by jumping from a counter there. For now, though, she has her curiosity filled with the upper walls and ceilings of the main floor.

This is her attempt to reach whatever she saw that was too far up for her to attain. I looked and, predictably, saw nothing unusual…

  1. What a great camera moment with Valkyrie jumping up the wall. In my house it would be to see a spider or the cob webs that need knocking down, lol.

  2. It’s always interesting to see how our pets develop new quirks and curiosities! Valkyrie’s fascination with the ceilings definitely sounds like one of those moments that makes you wonder what’s going on in her mind. Here's hoping there's nothing too mysterious up there!

I just shared a new post; you are invited to read and enjoy. www.melodyjacob.com. Thank you!

  3. Ha! Some dust mote? Mouse in the wall, if the house is old?

  4. For some reason, that makes me think of that old poem: "Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there..."

  6. She might be seeing a shadow that she mistakenly thinks is a bird or bug that she can chase.

  9. Great action photo of her climbing the wall! Cats see and hear things we don't. Flynn used to do that late evenings when I was using the computer, then one day I heard it too. It was a mouse scrabbling in the wall space! It had been getting in through the air vent.
