Too Hungry to Care

Meal-times are always a gamble in my home. As I have written before, sometimes the beasts like what’s presented, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they eat the first portion, and disdain the second. And there is Parker’s on-going struggle.

Now and then, however, I achieve victory. Now and then, everyone is hungry, everyone likes what he is given, everyone is pleased. Sometimes, they are so hungry, even what normally would be distractions are ignored. Concentration is given to the food, and concentration is not broken until hunger is abated, appetite sated, and food is gone. Those are good days and everybody, man and beast, is happy.

Nothing stresses out a cat parent, like a non-eating cat.
Right now, Da Boyz will even eat cauliflower; they'll eat anything!

  2. That's hunger indeed, to ignore another's tail. Three cheers to victory! Would that your crew (and everyone else's) had more days like these. Sometimes I want to pull my hair out with how finicky they are, especially Nicki, the one who is (too) skinny.

  3. Meal-time when are cats involved is never dull. What they may eat today, they may decide not to eat tomorrow. But trying to second guess our cats sure keeps things interesting. They have us well trained! :-)

  4. I love your two tiered feeding station. I struggle to keep one cat happy, how you manage with your tribe with all of their distinct needs is admirable.

  6. I hope you get many of those days where they will eat everything in sight, but thankfully not another's tail!

  7. Well, as a kitty who sometimes likes her food and sometimes doesn't, I don't see anything wrong! MOL

  8. I sure know what you mean. Admiral and Katie both are peckish about their foods although I kept and still keep a shelf of different flavors trying to pique their appetite.

    1. I meant to refer to Admiral in the past tense...but I am sure you made that adjustment as you read.

  9. This is why I have given up buying a whole case of one brand of tinned food or a large bag of dry food. Within a day or so this is no longer the favourite and I must go out and buy the new favourite - whatever that might be. I buy a selection of tins and this seems to be working. I hope you have many good dinner nights in the cozy apartment.

  10. I'm so fortunate, my cats love their Fancy feast. Though I generally do buy 3 varieties so I can mix it up. I know I get bored eating the same thing day after day, so assume they do too.

Love the photo - it almost looks like the same cat in two places at the same time. :)

  11. Tonight was a full three can course for the finicky five and it is almost gone. Some days it can hang for a bit but we have it pretty well figured out. Buddy switched to Kidney Diet on Fri after a vet visit and he likes it. Thank Bast. He needs to get to his 19th birthday on the 31st and way beyond we are praying.
