When Coming Home is an Adventure...

When one has kittens, one never knows what one will find when one returns home after an absence. It may have been Brazil, who has been on top of the kitchen cabinets previously, but I think it was one of the kittens. I temporarily keep recycling up there until it can be donated; I am sure that Aurora or, more likely, Theodore or Chiff, climbed up on top of the cabinets and knocked down an empty milk jug or pop bottle. The loud, hollow banging as it fell probably startled the cats and they emptied the space in their panic. For good measure, they pulled a cushion off a chair.

All in a day’s work when one fosters kittens…

  1. Considering how many cats are at home, it is only a little mess. Are you ever tempted to have a couple of little cameras set up, so you can watch what the crew get up to?

    1. I am tempted, yes, but they'd probably wreck those, too...

  2. I am smiling. I never have gotten irritated at mine through the years either. They are having a good time- and things happen I believe the phrase goes! :-)

  3. The mystery of the mess. Saku can no longer get away with this sort of thing, being the sole cat in the household. Early this morning, there was the sound of something being tipped over - thankfully it was merely a box.

    1. I and the cats would love to have you over, Mackerull - but you'd have to stay away from the baseboards. Really.

  5. Glad to know the milk bottles did not have milk in them when they hit the floor. And who brought the toilet tissue in with them! I find this a good mood lifter in the rain today.

  6. I burst out laughing, seeing that first picture. At least they didn't knock over anything breakable and cut their paws. (It's a wonder Nicki didn't cut himself, the number of times he knocked over lamps, dishes, etc.)

  7. Dearest John,
Kitties remain rascals and indeed, one can run into surprises when coming home!

  9. Things are never dull when there are kittens in the house. Well, it was time to clean off the top of the kitchen cabinets anyway, wasn't it??

  11. I remember some 40yrs ago, l was a single parent
then, actually for 14yrs in all...l used to put a Christmas
tree up in the hall...over night, the kittens used to play
on and in the tree, my daughter loved it, as she had to
redecorate the tree every morning before school...I just
let them get on with it...Jeeeese! What a mess...
HeHe! We loved it..It made our Christmas...! :)
