Bon Voyage, Floof King

I want to thank everyone who has viewed my announcement of Tungsten’s passing, and everyone who has left their condolences on this horrible event. Each comment makes my days easier. I will write more fully about Tungsten later.

This post is a short one, but I wish to let everyone know that Kola was picked up by his prospective adopters on Wednesday. That was the day before Tungsten died, so the occurrence was overwhelmed a bit, which was unfair to the Floof King.

I haven’t received any word on Kola in his new home; it’s early days yet. He knew something was up, and didn’t want to be put in the carrier. It was hard for me to let him go, but this is his chance to have a whole house to himself - barring some humans and a dog - and the undivided attention of his people. Seeing a loved cat with other humans is always difficult, I think, because their ways may not be one’s own, and one must let them interact with the cat as they will. Kola will grow used to his new environment, and he will be loved and love in return.

I will publish any account of his new life that I receive. I write the monthly newsletter of the Lethbridge PAW Society, and always follow an adoption with an interview for an article, so I will be talking myself to the couple who now have Kola, probably within a fortnight.

I wish my favourite talker all the best in his new adventures.

  3. I had wondered what the timeline was for Kola to go to his new forever home was. I know with all that was going on surrounding Tungsten it was hard to see Kola go even though you know it's for his betterment. Many purrs and blessings to you as I know your heart is heavy not just with Tungsten Journey but also with Kola's new one. ((hugs))

  4. I can imagine it was difficult to let Kola go, as you were letting Tungsten go as well. I hope that the Floof King has found his forever home. Perhaps they need to ensure they have a box or two for this character! I wish he and his adoptive family all the best.

I hope too the other kitties give you lots of love to help you through your grief.

  9. I'm praying all is well with Kola. Your comment about adopters interaction is so true and has left me feeling a bit unsettled. Better the type of love you need in a small house ( or room) than anything else in a mansion.
The loss of your beloved Tungsten and Kola's adoption coming so close together must be terribly difficult for you. I think the Siamese princess will step up to the task of comforting your broken heart. Siamese are very intuitive.

    1. I had a brief update on Kola, and things appear to be going well. He is largely untroubled by the dog and is adapting quickly to his new home. I will be learning more in the next couple of weeks.

    1. A brief update on Kola that I received on the weekend shows that things are going well so far. Kola is settling in (into the dog's bed, actually) and eating next to the dog.

I hope Jessica is all right. Please let me know how she is doing.
