The Return of Yellow

Spring is slowly - very slowly - returning to our part of the world. I see a few green blades of grass, but no leaves on the trees, not even buds. There are higher temperatures - tomorrow is expected to rise to 20° C (68° F), which is just right for me.

The best sign of spring is the sunshine. The sun has made its way north again - or, rather, the Earth is tilting toward the sun in a way that gives the northern hemisphere more direct access to our star. Whatever one’s perspective, the sun is starting to throw its beams back into the cosy apartment once more, and the cats are finding them.

One of the few things more brilliant to the eyes than the warm, yellow light of the sun is a cat lying in it.

  1. Everyone looks so content and relaxed while they enjoy their "sun puddles". With all that's going on today, I think we all could all use a little nap in the sun.

  6. Those photos remind me of a racehorse from back in the day with the lovely name of "Gato Del Sol."

  9. Our sun is moving away from our place, but we don't mind sharing it with you.

  10. The kitties say there is nothing like a sun puddle! I'm so happy to see the warmer temps, though even when it reaches just a few degrees above freezing my south facing sun room is a magnet for the cats and me. We spent most of the afternoon out there today and time just flies as they nap, I read, crochet or knit, or just relax and watch the birds.

    Enjoy the warmer weather!

  12. They look wonderful in the sun. Ohio is the cloudiest state in our
Union and we only get 120 days a year, randomly, of sun. Yesterday
was ours and today it is raining. But we do have leaf buds, so I hope
yours make it out soon. Spring is a time of renewal, and all of us,
    cats included, need it.
