Bigfoot Asleep

I am constantly astounded – though no longer surprised – at the positions in which my cats will sleep. They are like human babies, and can nod off not only anywhere or at any time, but in any shape. And I doubt that Tucker’s foot will stay asleep any longer than the rest of him; if this were me, my leg would probably turn gangrenous from the blood being cut off.

One of the many benefits of being a cat…

  3. No position appears to be uncomfortable for cats! Don't you just want to tickle those toes?

  4. No question, cats sleep in the funniest positions, and
sometimes in the oddest places. It's like their brain just
says "sleep" and they literally fall over snoozing. Hopefully
Tucker is not having nightmares about Jessal. By the way, have
you found out if Ada is now in her new forever home?

    1. Adah is being adopted and is home to stay. I will be interviewing her person for our group's newsletter this month and, with her permission, put some pictures of Adah in her new home on the blog.

  5. Ooh, I'd have a very hard time preventing my finger from poking into that paw, Tucker! Cat paw pads are one of my favourite areas to investigate...

  6. Adorable! It amazes me,too, how cats can sleep anywhere in any position. Tucker's toe pads look cute and ready for a quick tickle.
Read your comment above and so happy for Adah!

  7. Oh! Nearly forgot..
I have this tucked away in my
    pussy~cat folder....

    Cats Sleep Anywhere..
Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.
Open drawer, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! They don't care! Cats sleep anywhere.

  8. Will Tucker let you touch or kiss his feet? I would find it hard to resist giving those toe pads a quick smooch!

    1. He will, but with the puzzled look of someone wondering why anyone would want to touch his feet.

    2. Aw, he's a good boy. Mostly. Nicki was NOT a fan of having his feet touched (back or front) and Derry will tolerate the front, sometimes the back, but only for a second.

  9. Tucker is so adorable! It's amazing that cats can be comfortable and fall sleep in any position - even when they are doing an imitation of a pretzel!

  10. I have a couple of pictures of cats sleeping in--I swear--a perfect corkscrew. Their spines must be made from rubber.

  12. Tucker, you are such a sweetheart. We love seeing our little ones at home and the amazing spots and positions they find to sleep. We are always saying "How can that be comfortable". But the manage it. Thanks for the sweet photos of Tucker. Have a great rest of your week.

  13. Saku is the one that sleeps in the oddest positions here. Sasha tends to curl up like a normal cat, Saku flips himself into the oddest position, often on his back with one leg up in the air propped up by the bottom of a chair or the wall. I admire their flexibility!
